I think you have an interesting concept here. These videos are well done although separately you have to ask yourself how well they work individually, as they can be confusing. Overall, it’s pretty dark and I wonder how well these stories could have been told if they weren’t “stop motion.”
Laura did such a great job. The acting in them were really nice- I liked the three piece concept as well!
I like the second one the best I think, the canvas, even though you can’t erase the charcoal, the texture and tone is really nice. also the interaction is a lot of fun to watch, It really keeps your eye moving. I could watch it over and over
Very cool idea, the charcoal reads very well on the light backgrounds. Id normally say i wish the images weren’t so choppy in the vomiting videos, but it doesn’t even bother me, i think it compliments the mood.
interesting idea! I think one thing that would help the vomit sequence read better would be for the charcoal vomit to get on their faces. they look a little too clean to be vomiting. also, i feel like the animation should be a little smoother on the last one. great job creating a mood!
the second video was kind of anticlimactic compared to the third. you’re idea is interesting, definitely a little creepy. i like that you kept them separate. the third one is kind of choppy, not as smooth as the others.
The darker meaning contrasts with the videos before it, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that; we often look at stop motion as something to laugh at (which we did do with this video, by the way). I love the insects in the first two :3.
i like your usage of charcoal powder a lot and how you had it interact with the people or how you had the people interact with it. and i like how you carried that through all three pieces.
Cool combination of live action and drawing. like the whole video-triptic idea!
The concept of these video is interesting and they work nicely as a series. I’ll say the first one is the most-stopmotion like one, but personally I like the girl’s acting on the third one the best.
i like how you tried breaking up your idea into three different pieces that all relate to you central theme. they all have that dark/erie feeling that really worked with the charcoal.
Dude. Demented.
I love it. =)
l loved charcoal vomit!!!! For your second video, drawing and erasing charcoal drawing on canvas might have been frustrating but I personally think the smudged drawing style works well in there.
